-2 sets of oscillator samples – one recorded ‘DI’, with a NEVE* style pre-amp/eq and boutique valve mixer at 48khz/24 bit.
The second set uses the same method as well as being recorded to brand new ‘old-stock’ tape at 15ips on a Studer* A807 quarter inch reel-to-reel recorder. Continue reading J4

“Featuring a custom ‘tape fx’ section, to emulate the effect of tape compression, as well as damage – listen to the audio demo to the left for an example of how this affects the dynamic of the synth.
Recorded without tape, to preserve the purity of the waveform. Near 100 year old interstage transformers were used in the sampling, along with valves to provide extra high end sizzle and dimension.”

“Using the Microtape + format, no.17 features a selection of over 115 glissando effects made with a marimba. Most of these have been looped, and vary in length. Both looped and un-looped nki’s are included, with about two thirds of the samples played back at half speed (therefore an octave lower) at 3.75 ips.
For the 3.75ips set, every note from c0 – c6 is assigned a diff wav – configured in an nki as looped, and also in another nki as un-looped. The 7.5ips samples (different slices) range from f0 to c4. In both sets, the higher end of the range features some longer loops and passages.”
