Die Gesangsstimme ist das vielseitigste und anspruchsvollste Musikinstrument und findet in fast jeder Musikrichtung seine Anwendung. Mit CANTOR ist es nun erstmals möglich überzeugende Vokalklänge in Echtzeit synthetisch zu erzeugen. Sie geben einfach nur den Songtext ein und sofort kann dieser Text über ein MIDI Keyboard live gesungen werden ! Mit Hilfe der vielen Echtzeitparameter kann der Gesang sehr expressiv gespielt werden.
Die neue Vokalsynthese VOSE* ermöglicht eine erheblich verbesserte Klangqualität und Verständlichkeit der in Echtzeit erzeugten künstlichen Stimmen. Die Bandbreite reicht dabei von roboterhaften Maschinenstimmen bis hin zu hochexpressiven und bereits sehr natürlich klingenden Gesangspassagen.
Der komplett überarbeitete Scoreeditor ermöglicht die schnelle und intuitive Editierung wichtiger Klangparameter in ausreichender Tiefe um selbst feinste Details der Ausprache und Expressivität der Stimmen zu realisieren. Sämtliche Editierungen werden dabei sofort wirksam bzw. „hörbar“.
Der neue MIDI Import ermöglicht nun auch die Übernahme von Pitchbend und Expression Daten. Damit können beispielsweise echte Gesangsfragmente, die mit Werkzeugen wie Melodyne von Celemony analysiert wurden, in CANTOR importiert werden und mit einer neuen Stimme versehen werden !
In CANTOR 2 befinden sich mehr als 20 fertig verwendbare Stimmen mit deutscher bzw. amerikanischer Aussprache im Lieferumfang. Umfangreiche Phoneme- und Stimmeditoren ermöglichen aber auch die Erstellung eigener Stimmen, sogar die Erstellung eigener „Sprachen“ ist möglich.
Neben der Standalone Version für Windows XP und Mac OS X stehen auch Plugins für VST2.4 und AudioUnit zur Verfügung.

„Klangstruktur
CUBE 2 ist ein Musikinstrument und das ultimative Werkzeug für Sounddesigner, die sich schon immer einen direkten und intuitiven Zugriff auf alle Klangkomponenten wünschten. Jeder denkbare Klang kann zerlegt werden in seine (in-)harmonischen Teiltöne, das “Sinusspektrum”, und in einen Rauschanteil, das “Residual Noise Spektrum”. Die räumliche Abbildung eines Klanges kann mit Hilfe eines “Panorama Spektrums” dargestellt werden. Die zeitliche Entwicklung dieser drei Spektren ist eine sehr intuitive Form der Beschreibung jedes Klanges. CUBE 2 arbeitet mit diesem Modell und ermöglicht dadurch die Erstellung und Bearbeitung von Klangstrukturen auf sehr einfache und musikalische Art und Weise.
Resynthese
Importieren Sie mit CUBE 2 ein Sample dann wird dieses in seine zwei Hauptbestandteile zerlegt: für bis zu 512 Teiltöne wird deren Verlauf in Frequenz und Amplitude im Sinusspektrum festgehalten, der geräuschhafte Anteil wird separat im “Residual Noise Spektrum” analysiert. Die aussergewöhnliche Analysequalität über einen weiten Bereich von Klängen vermeidet dabei viele der typischen Artefakte die man von anderen Verfahren her kennt.

The goal of this project is to be a great tool/companion for the original DX7. Yes, the sound engine with ‚float‘ values parameter; different waveform (a la TX81z) would be great but anything that goes beyond the DX7 should will be a fork of this project. The oscillators, filters and envelopes closely model components found in some of the great monophonic and polyphonic synthesizers of yesteryear.
