Mystic

Mystic

“Mystic’s awesomely versatile yet startlingly original and unique audio characteristics are based on three parallel comb filters with feedback. The sound source is an “impulse sound” based on physical modeling technology. The harmonic spectrum of this sound is based on one of six selectable waveforms and a set of two spectrum filters. The sound can be shaped with a filter (Damping), by adding an offset to the comb filters (Detune), or by adding a noise component (Crackle). The result is an exceedingly inspiring VST synth that rewards the adventurous.

Mystica

Mystica

“Mystica – where world class vocalists meet the topmost innovative library designer and superior studio gear

With Mystica, Eduardo Tarilonte continues his incomparable series of vocal-libraries. This classical chamber choir consists of eight extraordinary female vocalists, delivering a unique, enchanting sound without comparison.

Mystica was designed as a female-choir-library for unconfined solo use. At the same time, the library forms a perfectly matched mixed choir when being combined with Cantus. Therefore, Mystica was recorded under identical conditions in spanish KBYO Recording Studios, located in Granada, using eight selected Neumann microphones and Avalon preamps. NanoMod 7 – 8-Bit

NanoMod 7 – 8-Bit

“NanoMod 8-Bit brings the power of the NanoMod interface to bear on the shiny, aliased grittiness of vintage 8-bit digital synths. From searing synth leads to crunchy pads, 8-bit has the heft and muscle of those classic 80s polysynths right at its heart.

Wave 1 is a thickly detuned combination of two sawtooths and a PWM pulse, all beating it out together – great for movement and power. This is a very rough, aggressive wave.

Wave 2 is a typical early-digisynth waveform, with Breath and Air components and a lot of high-frequency noise. Dialling this in gives a great “airy pad” sound straight off; and it combines excellently with Wave 1 to add gloss to the raw sawtooth sound.”

Newscool

Newscool

“Newscool is a REAKTOR classic– now it’s completely rebuilt, with an innovative sequencer (at the top) and the characteristic sound engine (at the bottom). The engine consists of a tone generator on the left and a multi-effect unit on the right. The signal is produced by eight parallel oscillator units whose parameters are modulated extensively. The effect unit parameters – providing pitch shifting, delay and filter – are similarly modulated. The sequencer is based on the Life model developed by John Conway in the 1970s. A twodimensional pattern is processed in steps: An element of the pattern becomes alive (dark in this implementation) in the following step if three of its eight neighbors are alive in this step; it remains alive in the subsequent one if two or three neighbors are alive in the current one – else it dies (and becomes a light square again). Several patterns emerge over time by this set of rules: Gliders move over the grid, crosses oscillate in several phases, some objects remain stable and don’t change from step to step while others remain unstable forever. These patterns trigger the sound engine, generating “lively” sequences.”
